I almost expected to see Sean Connery and Daniel Craig walk down the runway at the Rhowan James Homme show at TOM* FW18. The collection, an tribute to the world and lifestyle of James Bond, featured stunning tuxedos, smoking jackets, bomber jackets, military style coats and ensembles that 007 would feel right at home in. Reminiscent of the adventures and lifestyle of the mythical MI6 agent, the collection could easily be featured in the next Bond flick.
Gold and black featured prominently in the collection. The showstopper, by far, was an elegant gold and black satin smoking jacket paired with gold bow tie, a formal white shirt and black trousers and loafers worn by the regal and refined Jeff Cairns.
Beautifully structured bomber jackets paired with button down shirts and ties could easily find their way into the mainstream workplace as a refined alternative to the traditional blazer.
Athleisure also had a place in the collection. A smart white cricket sweater and matching jogger pants and black and gold sweatshirt and shorts set showcased informal pieces in a polished light.
A dramatic cape worn over a classic black tuxedo with black satin trim closed the show. I could just envision James Bond sweeping into a ballroom, expertly exterminating the evil villain and strolling away with the beautiful and incredibly clever Bond girl on his arm.
