Shelli Oh's Recherché Collection is Reminisent of Capturing an Elusive Dream

March 15, 2018

The Shelli Oh Recherché collection presented at TW FW18 had an ethereal dream-like quality. As if out of a day dream, models graced the runway in delicate yet opulent pieces in tones of blush, gold, pewter, silver and black.

Hand-sewn metallic faux-leather pieces adorned dresses, peplum styled blouses and bolero styled jackets creating a fascinating mosaic effect. One could easily imagine wearing these rare and exotic creations to cocktail parties, out on a date night and even paired with jeans to elevate a casual outfit and turn heads on the street.

Sequined tops and dresses in a mixture of colours and styles spoke to the effortless style of the designer who creates pieces that she herself would wear and that make her happy.

The collection also included minimalist styled coats that could easily complete the outfits bringing together form and function in their beautiful simplicity.

The finale piece, a gorgeous fluid long gown, accented with real leaves encased in gold spoke to the unfussy, austere yet opulent nature of the Shelli Oh brand.

It was such a pleasure to meet and get to know Shelli over the course of the TOM* and TW FW18 shows. She is down-to-earth and unpretentious, soft spoken and fun and these qualities are echoed in her collections.
