Hosted by SFW Founder, Jodi Goodfellow (seen above), the event featured two up-and-coming Canadian designers who provided guests with a ‘teaser’ of their collections.
Vesika Pisces designer, Michelle Samantha Walmsley (below second from right) presented pieces from her resort and swimwear collection. Walmsley, an alumnus of the SFW program, sources natural, organic and recycled fabrics and produces custom made and ready-to-wear pieces for her clients. The models reflected a diversity of body types and multi-cultural backgrounds that made the Vesika Pisces brand reflect an accessibility and individuality that appeals to today’s fashion marketplace. The second designer, Lore Collective, highlighted pieces that were understated and elegant featuring caramel hued dresses with distinctive details defining everyday dressing with ease and style. For more information please visit www.lorecollective.com

Launched in 2014 Startup Fashion Week (SFW) provides Canada’s emerging designers, models and entrepreneurs with the opportunity to develop and present their talent through various programming educational events and showcase opportunities. The success of SFW in Toronto has led to the expansion of SFW to Montreal in 2016 where it hosted its first event and now continues to expand annually.
