Bennett Bespoke Clothiers offer a Customized Experience
Ben Rogul (pictured above left with model Paul Mason) is known as ‘the suit guy’. This is not surprising for the Co-Founder of Bennett Bespoke Clothiers. Hailing from a family of clothiers and furriers (his grandfather created a mink shawl for Princess Margaret), one could say that fashion runs in his blood.
Mr. Rogul could easily be the spokesmodel for his brand, being well turned out in an impeccable suit each time we have met. Having started his career as a manager of a band and then switching lanes into corporate recruiting at Holt Renfrew, he began to immerse himself into the world of fashion and in particular suiting.
In 2016, he decided to take the leap and team up with a local manufacturer to offer a customized approach to bespoke clothing for men. Bennett Bespoke Clothiers offers men a personalized experience that is convenient for the client, tailored to meet their individual needs and lifestyle, and builds a relationship as a trusted style advisor.
The first step is a consultation with the client at their location of choosing such as the office or at home. Rogul conducts an in-depth wardrobe audit, and also learns about the client’s style of living and preferences. The goal is to create a made-to-measure suit that enhances the individual. As Ben puts it “its their style…elevated”.
The next step is designing the suit. This incorporates a few different elements. There is the aspect of education around styling, fashion trends, fabrics and features including lapels, pockets and other details. Once the suit is ordered, it is hand crafted in a factory of experienced tailors. The finished suit is then sent to the client for fitting and any further tailoring is completed.
Bennett Bespoke recently showcased its suits at the Startup Fashion Week in Toronto. Instead of typical models, actual clients (seen throughout this article) walked the runway showing off their custom ensembles. Models included Paul Parisi, President of PayPal Canada, Brandon Olsen, Owner of CXBO Chocolates, Collin Joseph, Festival Director of Pride Toronto, Tim Jones, CEO, Artscape, Steven Branco, Editor-in-Chief & Publisher, Swagger Magazine and Devo Brown, Host of Entertainment City and Your World This Week on City TV and Rogers Channel 2 respectively.
So what does the future hold? Aside from increasing awareness and continuing to expand services to reach more male clients, Rogul has plans to extend the company’s offering to female clients. He sees a gap in the market of bespoke suiting for women and wants to provide a custom experience for them.
