Narces designer Nikki Wirthensohn Yassemi re-imagines the 1980’s prom dress in a fresh, refined way that is both modern and nostalgic at the same time. Each piece, a polished work of art, is a nod to the era of ‘excess’ in fashion without being farcical.
This is no surprise coming from the celebrated designer who grew up surrounded by design, art, and fashion. Her mother worked with esteemed British tailor to the Royal Family, Victor Edelstein who is renowned for having created some of Princess Diana’s most iconic gowns. Inspired by the romantic glamour and elegance of mid-20th century, Nikki’s flirty approach to evening dresses is becoming popular in North America, Europe and the Middle East.
Pieces from her latest collection featured bold shoulders, sumptuous fabrics, over-sized bows and voluminous floral accents. This is the perfect collection for those fashion lovers who want to bring ‘Sex and the City’ inspired glamour and style to life at cocktail parties, dinner parties, weddings and other special occasions.
The show was held at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) to a sell out crowd, with spectators willing to stand to see Ms. Wirthensohn Yassemi’s latest creations.
